School day
Our school day starts at 8:45am prompt. The gates open at 8:35am and will close at 8:45am as the school day begins. Any children arriving after 8:45am are late and must sign in at the school office.
The end of the school day is 3:15pm. Gates open at 3:10pm and close at 3:30pm. Any children not collected before 3:30pm will be taken to After School Club, where there will be a late collection charge.
These compulsory hours amount to a total week of 32.5 hours, in line with DfE requirements.
Nursery hours are 8.45am-11.45am and 12.30pm-3.30pm.

Attendance
At Nether Edge we recognise the clear link between high levels of attendance and strong outcomes for children. Attending school regularly supports academic progress, personal development and readiness for the transition to secondary school.
We are committed to providing a welcoming, supportive environment where every child feels valued and is able to access the full breadth of learning on offer.
Parents and carers play a vital role in supporting good attendance, working in partnership with the school to ensure children attend on time, every day. Being in school consistently also helps children to build secure routines and develop strong, positive relationships.
We actively promote the importance of excellent attendance and aim for all children to achieve the highest possible attendance so they can thrive both in school and beyond.
