We nurture children’s natural curiosity for languages through a reading- and oracy-focused French curriculum.

From Year 3, all pupils enjoy weekly lessons that develop their confidence in speaking, reading and writing French, with a strong emphasis on vocabulary, phonics and conversational skills.

EYFS and Key Stage 1 children begin with greetings and basic classroom language, while Key Stage 2 pupils build on this with structured lessons and authentic cultural experiences, including European Day of Languages and Bastille Day.

Our aim is to develop confident speakers, curious readers and writers, and a love of French stories, songs, poems and rhymes, creating learning that sticks for the long term.
