Overview

Our music curriculum inspires a love of music and develops the skills of confident musicians.

Pupils listen critically, compose and perform across a range of genres and styles, exploring instruments, technology and musical notation.

Supported by the Sheffield Music Hub, children from Year 3–6 have opportunities to learn instruments such as violin, glockenspiel and recorder, while all pupils participate in singing lessons and class-led music activities.

Through performances, immersive music days and our school choir, children develop creativity, self-confidence and oracy, while learning to appreciate music, its history and the achievements of others.
