Overview

Our science curriculum inspires curiosity and a love of learning about the world around us.

It is broad, balanced and carefully sequenced from nursery to Year 6, building scientific knowledge, vocabulary and enquiry skills over time.

Lessons develop key scientific behaviours such as questioning, predicting, observing and evaluating, with regular opportunities for hands-on investigation.

Learning is revisited through our ‘Remember More’ retrieval strategy, and links are made to maths and reading through data work and science anthologies.

Through practical experiences, visitors and real-world connections, pupils develop respect for living things, an understanding of science in everyday life and confidence in their potential to pursue future scientific pathways.
